Please Pray

I just got the horrible news that Jeff and Carolyn Schrock (from Washington) lost all five of their children in a car accident this evening. Jeff is badly hurt.

Jeff was a 14-year-old when I lived with his family, long ago, and Carolyn was my student in the 5th and 6th grades. Also, Jeff is a brother to Paul's brother John's wife Laura.

If we are this much in shock, how much more the grandparents, siblings, and especially Carolyn herself.

  1. We've been left stunned.

Wes called me earlier this evening about this.

I imagine John and Laura feel so far away in Poland right now.

  3. Scott called me last night and I still cant beleive it. I went to bed praying for Jeff and Carolyn. I feel asleep praying. I waited until about 11 pm to go to bed praying that someone would call and say they had the info wrong. First thing this morning I came to your blog hoping against hope their would be better news. Truly this is a time to reflect on Gods mercies and remember that His ways are not our ways. It's all so hard to understand! I'm saddened beyond belief. All the "whys" run through my head. It's just so sad!

  5. I Talked to Steve and Judy today and Steve reminded me that though it does not make since at all, it has all been inspected by our Heavenly Father!!!! I'm sure God will use these 5 precious little lives to reach many. It' hard to fathom such a loss!!!!Judy is an aunt to these childrenand is on her way to be with Jeff and Carolyn. Bonnie

  7. What a tremendous testimony this will be to the rest of the world of the power of the Christian faith! Of how much comfort would a dead god be to one in a time of dire need?

  9. Oh paul my sister, Valerie, and I were going over the same thing on the phone today. I told her I wouldnt want to clean my childrens rooms for weeks because I'd want everything just as they left it. Then we went into our kids rooms and told each other exactly what they looked like at that moment. We human beings can be strange creatures sometimes. It actually makes the pain worse to deal with it like that. But one just cant keep their mind from wandering down those paths.
