Remember the old woman who lived in a shoe? I'm a lot like her, with a husband and varying numbers of children in our 100-year-old farmhouse. This blog is about our lives.

December column
Today's column is about losing the oak tree and the dog.
We Davises totally embarrassed ourselves grieving the death of our dog Max several years ago. Your words brought me some tears as I read this tonight, but they are good tears. Thank you for all these wonderful creations, Lord.
This was great, and brought tears to my eyes too. Your last paragraph was perfect. We lost one of our family pets this summer to coyotes and it was so hard, I think because they are so innocent and such good companions, so faithful and trusting... Thanks for this piece.
Great work!
