Remember the old woman who lived in a shoe? I'm a lot like her, with a husband and varying numbers of children in our 100-year-old farmhouse. This blog is about our lives.

Article
Last week my friend EG sent me a link to an interesting article about the whys and wherefores of mid-life memory lapses. I was going to post it earlier but I forgot.
This was a really helpful article! It explains a lot, and gives some good hints on how to deal with it. I'm having an especially hard time learning Spanish. I joked that it's like I have teflon brain and nothing sticks, but now I realize it's not all that unusual for this stage in my life (turning 50 next birthday). Just means I have to work harder and come up with some "tools" to help me remember what I'm learning. Thanks for sharing!
"Know thyself and to thine own self be true." For example, since I know that I will forget where I put my spectacles, I have to discipline myself to put them in the exact same spot every time no matter how far I am from that spot when I take them off. For me that spot is the top of the radio. It has saved countless hunts.
HAR HAR!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chuckle.
