Merry Christmas!

Here's wishing everyone who stops by a very joyful Christmas, full of family come home, mysterious gifts, good smells from the oven, snow, handmade ornaments, cards from friends, and a new appreciation for Jesus Christ, the greatest gift ever.

  1. Christmas is bigger than we will ever understand in this lifetime....but that doesn't mean we shouldn't try. It isn't just a day or a season, or even the celebration of His birth...it is the celebration of the beginning of real life and real joy, real family and real love. Without those things Christmas is just a day. It is just a recycled pagan holiday with little meaning. It is just another reason to shop and spend too much money on things we don't really need. But because it is bigger than those things, because it can include all of those things and still be bigger than all of them combined, Christmas will always be a longing in our hearts. I think that's why we try to make it perfect; because we know that somehow, somewhere there is a perfect Christmas. The good news is that there really is a perfect Christmas. It is Emmanuel...God with us, in our hearts and days for eternity. We won't understand Christmas and we won't really feel and experience Christmas in all of its gentle and awesome perfection until we see Him face to face, but it IS there, and we will have it one day...on that day, when every tear shall be wiped away, when no one has to get on a plane and fly away from us ever again. Thank God for Christmas. Merry Christmas my dear loved ones.

  3. I have to tell you that I do so enjoy reading your blog. I do not often comment. I do however visit often. I love that you share with us little things that are said by both your family and friends. I love your very 'real' insight. I love your very practical way of seeing things.

Keep doing what you do so well.

May you be blessed this Christmas time, and sense the greatness of our Lord beyond belief!

  5. Happy New Year!
Thank you for pulling back the curtain to your home and heart. The scenes are always so interesting and full of activity. Cozy, and inviting.. of yesteryear style..but, fresh and reminding the reader of the mother heart and it's importance in every home.
    Thanks..
