New LFH

Today's Letter from Harrisburg is about connecting with Dad's past.

  1. I loved this post. It's full of memorable images--the Oklahoma landscape, the wind-swept cemetery, the forsaken farmsteads, the goat giving birth, your frail father, your full-of-stories mother. Best of all is the water lilies still growing in a concrete tank after 80 years. Amazing. New life, death, and survival--all important realities are wrapped up masterfully in these images.

  2. I, also, loved this post. A couple of years I was able to go with my Dad back to his "old homeplace" and take some pictures and listen to his stories. I will always cherish that time and those memories. Thanks for sharing this.
