Letter from Harrisburg

All that anguish led to this column.

  1. You did it again. You wrote an easy-to-read and interesting column to which at least some of us can identify, then wrapped it up with a comfortable, easy-to-grab-hold-of conclusion.

It seems to me that your conclusions are frequently the cap-stone of your article/column.

  2. "...but rather about moving with the currents of grace that flow all around me. My loss may wash up on another shore as a blessing, my greatest failure rearrange another’s landscape with a wave of joy."

This is being added to my favorite quotes list - thank you.

  3. Thank-you so much for the encouragement to all of us who, like you, are still trying to "get it all together". I love the idea that God can work through our weakness, that our imperfections can be used, by His grace, for another's good. If it depended on me getting it right, it would never happen. Thanks again for putting into words what we all need to be reminded of.

  5. I agree with what you say about our weaknesses being avenues of blessing to others. As I grow older, I like making goals more to do with being than doing. This year I want to bask in having on the breastplate of righteousness-Christ's righteousness. I like finding verses about righteousness in my daily devotions. The past few years I've been so blest by remembering my belt of truth, I'm loved by God, etc., when I feel myself spiraling down into depressive thoughts.

  10. Thanks so much for the encouragement you give with your writings. I get very discouraged with all the goal making but never quite reaching them but if we look at things through God's eyes it will make all the difference if we are moving ahead in His grace!!! Thanks!!

  11. Loved the last line. You might want to include it in your adoption book :)
